- The competition ''Poverty and Environment'' aims at reflecting real-life issues relating to poverty and environment linkages.
- Improve public awareness in poverty reduction meanwhile protecting the environment.
- Promote environmental socialization not only in rural but urban areas; and to clarify the situation between poverty and environment.
- Encourage amateur and professional writers to discover and write about real-life story and people who have contributed greatly in applying advanced technology in daily life to improve living standards and protect environment; educate the people to protect environment for their own life.

ELIGIBLE COMPETITORS

All national/international amateur/professional writers; articles published in all newspapers and magazines from January 1st to September 15th, 2007 are eligible to the competition.

TOPIC FOR SUBMISSION

- Environmental degradation issues that affects on human life especially on poor communities; poverty issues that impact environment and ecosystem; or an analysis or interpretation on the interacting relationship between poverty and environment.
- Solutions that have been successfully applied in real-life, brought benefits and improved life of poor communities while protecting environment and developing sustainability.

REQUIREMENTS

Content of an essay should address, describe real-life stories and absolutely no imaginary stories. Writers are required to submit information used or related to the essay to the Organizational Committee.
